Bulgarian Seed Industry Association /BGSIA/ is a non-governmental organization that protects the interests of the seed industry in the country. It was established by the leading multinational companies in the seed sector – SYNGENTA BULGARIA EOOD, KWS BULGARIA EOOD, MONSANTO INTERNATIONAL (now BAYER CROPSCIENCE SCHWEIZ AG), LIMAGRAIN CENTRAL EUROPE SE, RAPOOL BULGARIA EOOD, CAUSSADE SEMENCES BULGARIA EOOD and EURALIS SEEDS EOOD (now LIDEA BULGARIA EOOD).

BGSIA is a member of the European Seed Association /EUROSEEDS/ and works with it on the implementation of European legislation concerning updates to agricultural policy, variety registration, seed certification, plant health, seed treatment, the fight against illegal seed, innovation and intellectual property protection.

The implementation of Bulgarian legislation, which is aligned with European legislation in the sector, contributes to preserving biodiversity and protecting the environment, thereby building a positive image of and trust in the seed industry in the country.
